Job Summary:
The IT Executive will oversee the seamless operation and functionality of all software systems used by Unicom Chemist Limited, ensuring they effectively support the company’s operations. This role focuses on managing relationships with service providers, implementing timely software updates, troubleshooting technical issues, and driving digital solutions that enhance efficiency. The IT Executive will ensure that all systems particularly ERP and POS platforms are running optimally, with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Management & Optimization:
- Monitor the performance and functionality of ERP, POS, and other business-critical software to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Collaborate with service providers to schedule, plan, and implement software updates and upgrades on time.
- Identify and troubleshoot software issues, ensuring quick resolutions with minimal operational disruption.
- Manage system configurations and ensure optimal integration between different software platforms.
Vendor & Service Provider Coordination:
- Serve as the primary liaison with external service providers and software vendors to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Evaluate the performance of service providers and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Negotiate contracts and renewals with IT vendors to secure the best value for the company.
System Updates & Compliance:
- Ensure all software is up to date, including regular maintenance and security patches.
- Monitor software licenses to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and service providers to test and implement system enhancements or new software tools.
IT Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support to staff, ensuring quick responses to software-related issues.
- Monitor systems for downtime or disruptions and coordinate rapid recovery when necessary.
- Develop and maintain user guides and conduct training sessions for staff on software usage.
IT Strategy & Reporting:
- Work with management to identify software solutions that align with business goals and enhance productivity.
- Prepare reports on system performance, software updates, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor trends in business technology and recommend innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
Data Integrity & Security:
- Ensure all business data generated by the company’s software systems is accurate, secure, and properly backed up.
- Work with vendors to maintain strong cybersecurity measures, including firewalls and antivirus software.
- Implement disaster recovery protocols to minimize risks of data loss.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of ERP, POS, and other business software systems.
- Proven ability to manage software vendors and service providers effectively.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and execute software updates on time.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and software licensing practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT management, software administration, or similar roles, preferably in retail, pharmaceutical, or FMCG sectors.
- Familiarity with ERP and POS systems is essential.
- Certifications in ITIL, Microsoft, or similar are an advantage.
